A new year has started. Which can only mean one thing. Which Call of Duty game will we see in November 2015? I don't know about you guys. But I've grown weary of all the technology that has been implemented in latest installment. I would like the more classic war approach again. I have my hopes set high on the release of World at War II this year. Treyarch posted a photo back in December in remembrance of the attack on Pearl Harbor. That attack was also the one that started World War II. Now call me crazy, but could that have been a teaser at what we're to expect? Or could it have been a diversion? Another simple answer was they were paying their respects to those who were killed that day, but come on, why would they do that? Could we possibly see Modern Warfare 4 giving all the latest news with ISIS? How about a Black Ops 3 with all of the people demanding their Black Ops zombies. Maybe even a Ghost: 2, but please don't! The only thing that is certain is that we'll find out at E3 in June.

Flash back almost a decade ago to 2006. The Nintendo Wii was backed by huge hype. "They're revolutionizing the way we play games." "Will console gaming ever be the same" These were just some of the things we heard before and after the Wii was released. After a few years the motion controller of the Wii was slowly reforming itself into your traditional gaming controller. I mean the games were still coming out, but the hype was dying. Flash forward to 2010 now. Just a few years ago. You had the release of the Playstation Move. This was a Wii Wand that had been tuned more accurately and featured some of the greatest technology behind it. However it never had the right games behind it for it to really blow up. My dad own's one of these, do you know where it is? It's in a box. Go a month or two forward, same year, to the release of the first Kinect. This took everybody by storm. The ability to put down any controller and play naturally was appealing. This had a good two year run with Dance Central and Kinect Sports leading the way. Then everything went back to the controller. Jump only two years back now. In 2013 Microsoft released the Xbox One. To those who didn't buy the console in that year might not even be aware that a Kinect 2.0 is available. The Kinect 2.0 is the most accurate and advanced motion camera to date. Yet the only games we've seen from it are remakes of course sport and dancing games. Xbox fitness is something that a good amount of people use regularly but what happened to Milo? What if Star Wars had a better camera behind it? It seems as if the major companies have dropped all hope in their consoles motion abilities all together. It's that time of the year again. Madden season spikes with the passing of the end of regular season and gamers are running to get their NFL fix. It's also that time of year when they start the countdown to the next cover athlete. Over the last few years the game has done a voting system where fans get to vote for the cover. Which seems to heavily favor the team who won the years current Super Bowl. Case in point, last year featured Seahawks corner back Richard Sherman who's team had just won the Super Bowl a few months prior. If I had my choice of cover athlete for this year it would have to be Tom Brady of the New England Patriots for a couple of reasons. First off, the team. The Patriots have never been on the cover of any Madden game. Next Brady is entering many conversations as a potential G.O.A.T. The guy is still playing and he's already in that discussion, he deserves the cover and if not at least Rob Gronkowski. While we're on Madden and the Patriots, Bill Belichick just go ahead and join the coaching association already. I'm sick of seeing Chad Masters on the sideline. It's an annoyance to every Patriots fan and probably a bunch of fans of Madden. Just do it, stop being classic Belichick. Leave your suggestions in the comments. It's been over a decade since EA and the NFL agreed to a deal granting EA exclusive rights to NFL content. The deal only has a few years left on it which means we could see a return of 2K sports version of the game. The last one they released, NFL 2K5, was back in 2004. It featured Terrell Owens on the cover and in many's opinion, including my own, was the superior game over Madden that year. EA sports even know that so they went out and bought the exclusive rights to the game. Now don't get me wrong I love Madden as much as the next guy. But is that only because I have no other choice or because it's a great game? With no rival in sight it's kind of hard to answer that accurately. The Madden franchise has been able to coast for the last 11 years now. With no competition, NFL fans who love gaming have had no other choice but to buy Madden. Now I understand that it's a business world and that EA was only looking out for themselves in this situation. But if they really think their product is superior, then they shouldn't have anything to worry about. They should finish out their contract and not renegotiate. Let us fans decide which game is better. Let us have choice when it comes to our NFL game. Microsoft recently released a pre-order for the Halo 5: Guardians Limited Collectors Edition bundle. The exact contents of the box have yet to be released, however the Microsoft store list it as including a Limited Edition copy of the game and a statue designed by 343 Industries. The price you ask? A staggering $250! That's just $100 shy of what you can an Xbox one for. While we're on the subject of Halo. I would bet money that Microsoft is going to be releasing a custom Halo Guardians Xbox One console. They did it with 2, 3, Reach and 4. For those of you hardcore Halo fans that are waiting for this game to release to buy a console. If you save a few extra pennies you might just be able to get a custom Xbox to go with that new game. What do you guys think? Is $250 to much for a statue and a game? Do you think they'll be releasing a new console to just for Halo 5: Guardians? Writing is something that millions of people are turning to for income. Finding a market for your book in this wave of new writers isn't an easy task. A tip from almost every successful writer, get a fan base. Why do you think I'm blogging? You need a following of fans in order for your book to get big, that's obvious. One thing they don't suggest is writing a short story. Amazon is a great place to publish your work, but their are so many more sites that you can venture to to get your name out their. That's really the first step of being successful, building your name. So if you've already published a novel and find that it's not selling, build your name. If you're thinking or have already started writing a novel, put that on pause. Write a short story comprised of roughly 10,000 words and put it on as many sites as possible. Put all your best work into this story, then proof read it two or three times. Have a friend read it and tell them be completely honest with you. Share it everyday, drive your friends and family crazy. Along with brand recognition you want criticism. This will help you become a much better author. Another tip is to stay focused. If you feel like you want to give up and stop writing. DON'T. Nothing happens overnight just remember to keep at it. Promote your work as much as you can. I guarantee it will take off if you get it out there. No one said being a successful author was going to be easy. |
