Neuronball
Neuronball is a free to play internet based game. You can play it here. Remember to register and confirm your email. I started the game as I do with any other game, read nothing about how to play and just dive right in. I click on the read to play icon in the top right corner and they pair me with someone in my area. A message pops up telling me to make sure my team is fully charged and I'm brought to a team management section. Now of course I'm completely lost, because who reads the about information (that and I couldn't find any about section) So I eventually clicked on the blinking countdown timer and clicked that I was ready. The game starts and I don't do anything. I click on my little Neurons and a brief status report of them comes up at the bottom. I'm completely lost at this point. However by not doing anything I ended up winning the game 5-0.
As you can see the game looks like a soccer field. The object is pretty similar as well. You have 5 Neurons (would be cool to add some electrons for some defensive bonding) on each team and they push around the golf ball look-a-like until eventually it get's in the goal. I figured out after the game that you can actually change the formation of your team
As you can see my formation is set to two goal keepers, two defenders and one attacker. My opponent was using four attackers and one goal keeper. Obviously that's not something you'll want to do. I figured out how to change the formation by clicking on the Neuron player on the left then by clicking on the board to the right to move the player around. I changed my formation to a two goalie, one defender, two attacker to try it again.
After changing my formation I searched for a new match. My new opponent used a similar formation to the last guy that I had played. This game didn't start as well as the last though and I was quickly down 1-0.
Almost immediately after the opponent scored my team responded with a score of their own. However these two quick scores led were the only in the game as it ended 1-1.
I played a few more games switching up the formations as I went to see which worked best. From my experience the first formation of two goal keepers, two defenders and one attacker was the best. Overall this game is a great time killer. It's to alter the formations to see what will work against who. A feature I would recommend to the makers would be the ability to save formations so you can switch immediately before a game.
